NDP’s Huggins promises to transform Central Leeward
NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY (NDP) candidate for the next general election, Conroy Huggins is promising that the NDP will transform Central Leeward, once given the opportunity to do so in the next general elections.
“We will transform Central Leeward for the better,” Huggins said at the opening of the party’s Central Leeward constituency office in Layou last Friday, April 25, 2025.
In September last year, Huggins, a former teacher, was named as the NDP’s candidate to contest the Central Leeward seat which is currently represented in Parliament by Orando Brewster, who is also the Minister of Housing.
In his address at the opening of the party’s office Huggins also spoke of the neglect of the Central Leeward constituency over the years, stating that the only things the constituency got in the last 24 years are a prison and a landfill at Belle Isle.
“In this party, we are a team of winners and we are a team of champions,” Huggins said, as he promised the people of Central Leeward that a new season is coming their way.
He said his campaign team, ‘Team Huggins’ is a powerful blend of youth and experience that will help to bring about change in Central Leeward and by extension, change for all of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
“The people of Layou and the people of Central Leeward, they deserve better.
“Conroy Huggins came forward to give you better representation,” the NDP candidate promised.
