USA seeking to control the Western Hemisphere, says Minister of Education

The rhetoric of United States President, Donald Trump to ‘make America great again’ is not just about making America great, it is about continuing to seek to exercise dominance over the world, specifically the Western Hemisphere. That is the conclusion of this country’s Minister of Education, Curtis King who concludes that this is a throw back to dark days of domination.

“…today we are seeing, if you like, a re-enactment of what we had in the early period of the European dominance of this hemisphere,” King stated earlier this week.

“I say this because when, and I consider the Americans … as the narrators of the European system. When the United States gained its independence back in the latter part of the 18th century, it did not take them long to articulate and announce a policy of hegemonic control of the West … what we call the Western Hemisphere.”

King was speaking on Monday, March 10,2025 during a ceremony at the Venezuelan Embassy on Murray’s Road held to commemorate the death of Hugo Chavez who served as President of Venezuela from 1999 until his death in 2013.

King said that he mentions the United States of America (USA) and hegemonic control in the same sentence because in the popular Monroe Doctrine, the USA made a very important statement.

“…and sometimes we miss the true meaning of this policy that was articulated by the United States. They basically said that, look, we in the Western Hemisphere, we have a different system, political system than the one you have in Europe. And as such, we are not going to tolerate your interference in our political affairs.”

The Minister said that might sound to be very protective of the Western Hemisphere, but what the United States is really saying “is that look- that also gave us the right to exercise hegemonic control over this part of the world. Why? Because we are the dominant power.”
