Sale of ICC T/20 tickets begins in Kingstown

Kent Louis of Rose Bank was the first purchaser of a ticket on Thursday morning, May 2, 2024, when the ICC T/20 Cricket World Cup box office commenced ticket sales at the Coreas City Store in Kingstown. Louis purchased tickets to the first match which will be played on June 13, 2024, and the Super 8 matches on June 22 and 24 – all to be played at the Arnos Vale Cricket Grounds.

He said he bought the Super 8 tickets “early so I can see the big boys play.”

Louis said his friends in Rose Bank are all eager to be at the matches, but he decided to purchase his tickets early, and expects his friends to buy theirs soon.

“We already plan how we going, but I bought my ticket first.”

Louis said he had no difficulty in purchasing the tickets, “it was just a 1-2-3 process. You just say which stand that you want to go to, the ladies are very helpful, and pretty quickly you get your tickets.”

Another early bird ticket buyer, Mona Kerr of Biabou, was the second female to purchase a ticket on the opening day of box office operations on Thursday morning.

“I want to be one of the first persons to buy a ticket, so I can be ready to be at the match,”she explained.

There was a steady stream of patrons queuing to purchase tickets at the booth which will open at 9’0’clock every morning, and remain open until 5:00 p.m.

In addition to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, local box offices were opened on May 2, 2024 across the host nations in the Caribbean- namely Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Also released on Thursday was the 2024 ICC T/20 Cricket World Cup official tournament song ‘Out of this World’ by Sean Paul and Kes.
