SEARCHLIGHT Facebook platform compromised

On January 31, 2024 SEARCHLIGHT became aware of suspicious activity on the Searchlight Newspaper Facebook platform.

It has since been determined that editorial and administrative access to the page has been compromised.

The matter has been brought to the attention of Meta, the governing body for Facebook and measures are being taken to correct the issue.

In light of this suspected breach, those who follow and interact with Searchlight Newspaper on Facebook are urged to be cautious about engaging with the page, particularly via direct messages.
