Girls’ High School students donate to the Red Cross

Students of form 5 Integrated at the Girls’ High School, handed over a large container box of donated items to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society on January 19. This phase marked the culmination of a clothing drive spearheaded by the students of the form which began in December, 2023. On hand to receive the items were the president of the SVG Red Cross, Alston Anderson and the welfare officer, Glenda Conliffe. The Red Cross, which has a large community footprint, will re-distribute the items to persons in eight different communities across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The president noted that “Charity begins at home and we welcome and encourage the humanity of these students who…have thought of persons less fortunate than themselves and who actually went out of their way to assist.

Form teacher, Tamara Toney also noted the act of generosity from her class and looked on with pride as they handed over the items to the Red Cross.

Conliffe noted that a report will be provided to the students on how many persons… have been reached by their generous act (contributed).
