55 homicides for 2023 with shooting death of Old Montrose man

For 2023, 55 homicides were recorded- the last of which was the shooting death of an Old Montrose man.

Police attached to the Major Crime Unit (MCU) in the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting that resulted in the death of Kenroy Peters, age 31.

The shooting occurred about 11:45 pm on Sunday 31, December 2023.

Preliminary information revealed that the deceased was walking along the Old Montrose Public Road towards his place of abode when he was accosted by a masked assailant with a gun who shot him multiple times in his upper body and head.

Peters was pronounced deceased at the scene by a medical practitioner.

The crime scene was processed by members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were collected.

A postmortem examination is expected to be carried out on the deceased to ascertain the exact cause of death. The RSVGPF expresses its deepest condolences to all those who are negatively affected by this fatal shooting.
