Canadian visitor dies after falling from balcony of hotel

A Canadian man died on Thursday afternoon after falling from the balcony of a five-storey hotel in St Vincent.

Myah’s Luxury Suites, in a release issued yesterday, December 28 confirmed that there was an incident at the hotel involving one of their guests.

“Our employees were proactive in alerting the relevant authorities and the matter now lies in the hands of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadine Police Force.

“We have profound respect for all our guests and for due process in such a sensitive matter, as such we will not make any premature pronouncements. Out of respect for the affected family and friends, and in consideration of the sensitive nature of this incident, we kindly ask for understanding and compassion during this difficult time.

“We are providing support to those impacted and are dedicated to ensuring the well-being and comfort of all our guests. We wish to reassure the public, present and future guests, that the safety and comfort of our guests and employees remain our top priority. We remain resolute to this commitment,” the release said.

A police source told SEARCHLIGHT on Thursday that the results of an autopsy will assist with their investigations into the death of the visitor.

Myah’s Luxury Suites, located at Diamond, St Vincent opened its doors to the public in May 2023.
