Estimates to be presented in Parliament today

The Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the 2024 fiscal year will be laid in Parliament today, Tuesday December 19.

The revenue package will be delivered by Finance Minister Camillo Gonsalves from nine o’clock this morning.

Speaking on the New Times program on Monday, Opposition Leader Dr Godwin Friday said that the New Democratic Party Parliamentarians have received the 2024 Estimates and have already begun to study the document, in preparation for the debate in Parliament.

Cabinet has recently concluded consultations with numerous stakeholders, prior to the preparation of the Estimates.

The passing of the 2024 Estimates in Parliament paves the way for the 2024 Appropriation Bill (National Budget) which is expected to be presented in early January.

The Budget for 2023 was $1.45 billion.
