Police officer and mechanic charged

A police officer and a mechanic have been granted bail in the sum of $20,000 each, after being charged with committing two offences involving the use of a firearm.

Zacroy John, 23 of Yambou and Ishmael Isaacs, 30 of Diamond appeared at the Serious Offences Court (SOC) before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne yesterday, December 11 where they were both charged that on December 6, 2023 at Villa, they had in their possession one black Glock 22 pistol, serial # LNL 209 with intent to commit an offence.

They were also charged that on the same date and at the same place, being armed with one Glock 22 pistol serial # LNL 209, they unlawfully threatened to discharge such firearm at a 25-year-old resident of Diamond.

Prosecutor Shamrock Pierre did not object to bail.

Representing John is lawyer Kay Bacchus-Baptiste and representing Isaacs is lawyer Ronald Marks.

The matter is adjourned to the end of January, 2024 for hearing.
