Charles to be laid to rest tomorrow

St Vincent and the Grenadines and the Caribbean’s ‘Unsung Hero’, Jestina Charles will be laid to rest on Saturday December 2.

Charles died at the age of 91 on Wednesday November 15 at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

In 2006, Charles, popularly knows as “Lady Charles” was named by the First Caribbean International Bank as their local and regional “Unsung Hero.”

Charles, who was originally from Byera Village, lived at Chester Cottage with her husband Bishop Holis Charles. The couple had been married for 57 years.

Before the funeral on Saturday, there will be a viewing of the body at the Bethel Gospel Assembly in North Union from 9 am to 10 am. There will also be a viewing of the body at the Bethel Gospel Assembly in Georgetown from 11 am to 12 noon. The funeral service begins after this viewing.

Charles will be buried at the Byera cemetery.
