Former national player hits second Masters Cricket century

Former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards wicket keeper/ batter – Uzzah Pope hit a century for Stanley Browne Stubbs on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Park Hill Playing Field, in the SVG Masters T/20 Cricket Competition.

Pope’s 104 not out, included 9 fours and 5 sixes from 68 balls, with another former SVG and Windwards batter- Kenroy Martin making 44, as Stubbs posted 179/3 from their 20 overs, versus Veejays North Windward.

Pope joined P’tani’s Romel Currency, who on the previous Sunday , scored the first century of the 2023 edition.

In reply, North Windward- 136/6 from their 20 overs. Michael Charles – 37 and Hanif Ollivierre – 22.

Carlos Thomas – 2 for 11 and Micah Joseph- 2/18, as Stubbs won by 41 runs.

Also, on Saturday at the Buccament Playing Field, Strokes Masters beat Sion Hill by six wickets.

Sion Hill – 95 all out from 16.3 overs. Colbert McDonald 21.

Kenwyne Browne- 3/18 and Ezekiel Trimmingham 3 /19, bowling for Strokes Masters, whose response was 97/4 from just 8.4 overs. Orlando Lavia- 35 and Andrew Little-21.

Two matches were contested on Sunday, and resulted in wins for Budgmart Pastures and P’tani.

Pastures edged out Cato Heavy Equipment Glamorgan by one run at Buccament.

Pastures – 110 all out off 17 overs; Lennox Samuel 47 and Marvin Harry 24.

Bowling for Glamorgan, Dexter Small 3/ 1 and Ezekiel Williams 3 /18.

Glamorgan – 109 all out from 17.1 overs. Mc Neil Morgan – 33, while Alvin Hope copped 3/22.

And, at Park Hill, P’tani beat Architectural Solutions Park Hill by 111 runs.

P’tani posted 229/2 from their 20 overs. Norlan Williams- 64 not out, Lass Harry- 59 and Romel

Currency 58 not out.

Park Hill- 118/ 8 off 20 overs. George Marksman 27 and Derrek Hooper 23. Elvis Browne 4/30 and

Adolphus Campbell 2/18, were the architects with the ball for P’tani.
