Five to battle for Miss Windward Carnival title

Five contestants are down to vie for the Miss Windward title when the North Windward Carnival Development Committee hosts the Miss Windward pageant on Friday, June 23. The pageant will be held at the Sea View Garden Beach Club and Resort in Georgetown, commencing at 8:00 pm a release from Rene’s Events and Marketing Agency states.

The contestants will make five appearances on stage, four of which will be judged. They will appear for the introduction, in swimwear, for the talent performance, in evening wear, and the interview segments; the introductory segment will not be judged.

The release adds that the pageant will be linked to the Committee’s Pan-Kai-Mas event where elements of Pan, Calypso and Mas will be on display.

The Tribes Mas Band and the SVG Player’s International Mas Band will display their 2023 presentations for Vincy Mas, and performances in Calypso will come from Divyne “Skye” Hackshaw and others, while the Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra is listed to bring the sound of sweet steel pan.

The contestants vying for the coveted title of Miss Windward 2023 are: Zada Barker – Miss Orange Hill, sponsored by Vincy Print Plus; Janeisha Cupid – Miss Sans Souci, sponsored by Sea View Garden Beach Club and Resort Empowering women through pageantry; Beyoncé Quashie – Miss Georgetown, sponsored by Foreign Base Entertainment; Veronique Thomas – Miss Sandy Bay, sponsored by House of Ellis; and Donnesia Yearwood- Miss Calder, sponsored by Woodzzy` Bar and Restaurant.
