Saint James School of Medicine to build new campus in SVG

Saint James School of Medicine, a leading Caribbean medical school, has announced a partnership with ARGO Development Studio to design and build a new campus on St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Medical School said in a release that the EC$13 million state-of-the-art facility will offer a top-notch education to students from around the world and will serve as a hub for research and innovation in the medical field.

“This is an exciting time for our school and medical education in the Caribbean. With this new campus, we will offer our students a modern, world-class education that prepares them for a successful medical career,” said Kaushik Guha, Vice-President of Saint James School of Medicine.

“We are excited to be partnering with ARGO to build our new medical school campus on St Vincent and the Grenadines.”

ARGO Development Studio is described as an international, award-winning architectural practice specializing in digital construction and climate intelligence based in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with offices throughout the Caribbean, Dublin, and New York.

The partnership between Saint James School of Medicine and ARGO is a significant investment in the future of medical education in the Caribbean region, the release further states.

The new campus will feature state-of-the-art facilities and the latest technologies, ensuring that students receive a world-class education that prepares them for successful careers in medicine.

ARGO is known for its innovative and sustainable approach to architecture and design. They have a proven track record of designing stunning and functional buildings with over $US1 billion currently under construction and has delivered over 20 million sq ft of projects in the Caribbean and Ireland over the last 10 years, the release adds.

Their expertise and experience will be invaluable as they work with the Saint James School of Medicine to design and build the new campus.

“We are thrilled to be working with Saint James School of Medicine on this exciting project,” said David Campion of ARGO.

“Our team is committed to creating a modern, sustainable, and functional campus that meets the needs of students, faculty, and staff while also complementing the natural beauty of St Vincent and the Grenadines. We look forward to working with the Saint James team to make this vision a reality.”

Construction on the new campus is expected to begin soon, with projected completion in mid-2024. Once complete, the new campus will be a beacon of innovation and excellence in medical education, including a one of a kind Bachelors programme in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, attracting students from around the world.
