NBC Radio offers free airtime to political parties

EACH OF THE main political parties here has been offered two 30-minute, and one one-hour slot of free airtime on the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) radio station leading up to the date of the general elections on November 5.

On October 16, NBC offered their general elections package, in keeping with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council National Monitoring and Consultative Mechanism (NMCM) Code of Ethical Political 2020 Elections.

Particularly, in adherence with number 22 of this agreement, namely that “each party in Parliament shall have equal and fair free time on the National Broadcasting Corporation.”

For week one, the NBC has offered a free 30-minute slot, with the available times being from 8:30 pm on October 22, and 8:00 pm on October 23. This will be pre-recorded if the offer is taken up.

For week two, the same will apply, but the dates will be: October 29 from 8:30pm, and October 30, from 8 pm.

Lastly, for week three, the party leaders are being offered one hour of free airtime, which will be done live and moderated by NBC personnel. No time has so far been given for this, but the dates will be November 2, and 3.

In addition to this free airtime, advertising time slots may be purchased.
