Sunset Shores Hotel ‘Calypso Central’ begins September 19th

Beginning Saturday September 19, Graduates Calypso Tent in conjunction with Sunset Shores Hotel will give calypso lovers a treat when they present “Calypso Central”.

“This is a show that will see Calypsonians from the various calypso tents on one stage though not competing,” Glenroy “Homey” Delpesche told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday.

The event is the brainchild of Gailene Collins of the Sunset Shores Hotel.

Delpesche, a member of Graduates Tent said the shows seek to attract calypso fans who cannot find the time to come out to the tents.

“We are making it easier for you as the shows will take place every other Saturday starting from September 19 with show time at 8’o clock,” Delpesche said.

The first show will feature among others “Lord Have Mercy”, Chewalee Johnson, Hance John and “Lady D”.

Sponsors include SVG General Services Ltd., Sekai General Services Ltd., Jamar General Service, the General Employees Cooperative Credit Union (GECCU), CK Greaves and the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC).
