A Song to Bolívar and Chávez is celebrated in SVG

THE MINISTER of the People’s Power for Foreign Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza Monserrat participated in the exciting event “ A song to Bolívar and Chávez” in tribute of the 237th anniversary of the birth of the Father of the Homeland, the Liberator Simón Bolívar and the 66th birthday of the Eternal Commander of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, held at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, on Tuesday, July 28.

The Foreign Minister of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy expressed: “We are celebrating life, because we are celebrating Hugo Chávez … he was very involved with the peoples of the Caribbean, when Chávez created Petrocaribe, he was sure that with this he would help the people of these nations, Petrocaribe and Alba are initiatives of Chávez and Fidel ».

“The best gift we can give Commander Chávez for his birthday is to make his integration mechanisms much more efficient, much more human, much more Chávez,” said Arreaza.

The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Comrade and friend of Commander Chávez and the Venezuelan people, Dr Ralph Gonsalves recalled the Letter from Jamaica “we cannot forget the famous letter from Jamaica, written by Bolívar; which is a historical document in the context of Caribbean and Latin American relations.”

Gonsalves explained the battles fought by Commander Chávez in defense of the independence and sovereignty of the Venezuelan homeland and denounced that the United States violates all international laws with the aim of dominating Venezuela and Cuba to “establish a neocolonial regime.” He also stressed that President Nicolás Maduro currently faces strong challenges such as the economic-financial blockade and threats of intervention.

Head of the Venezuelan Mission in SVG, Francisco Pérez Santana, also highlighted Bolívar’s thinking on independence and Latin American and Caribbean unity, its importance and current significance for the transformation of society, and recalled that in Venezuela with the arrival of the Revolution Bolivarian in 1999, a country project led by Commander Chávez and embodied in the Constitution of the Republic was initiated with the transfer of power to the people through a system of participatory protagonist democracy.

“Bolívar lives with the great strategy made reality in the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America and the Caribbean (ALBA-TCP), the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) as real and effective projects for the integration of peoples. There will be Bolívar, his thinking in soul and action, in force with the Bolivarian Revolution that takes place in Venezuela and that expands in the Continent, with clear ideals of scope and defense of the national objective interests of each sovereign State, “said Pérez Santana.

The occasion was propitious to unveil the work of Vincentian Visual Artist, Actress and Poet, Nerissa King, with the painting Bolívar and Chávez, two giants of the Caribbean; a wonderful creation in which “Bolívar and Chávez can be seen looking in opposite directions in front of the Venezuelan flag as if they were looking at their beloved nation from the beyond,” said King. Work that the artist gave to the Diplomatic Mission in honor of the two giants. The artist stated that she thanks the Venezuelan Embassy and its Institute for promoting Latin American and Caribbean culture, especially the Venezuelan and Vincentian culture.

As part of the commemoration of the birth of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and Commander Hugo Chávez, the activity was adorned with talented musicians: Cuban pianist Zahily Laidlow; Vincentian saxophonist, Oswald Williams; And to close the event, Vincentian violinist Darron Andrews.

As a special element of surprise, the video Chávez was presented through which several Vincentian friends of the Bolivarian cause expressed in two words what Hugo Chávez means and sent their words of congratulations for the commander’s birthday.

The activity was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, José Manuel Leyva Ventura, Members of the Solidarity group: Mike Browne, Zoila Browne, Laura Stephens, Marlon Joseph, as well as other friends of the Bolivarian Revolution.

The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela continues to work to maintain the legacies of Bolivar and Chávez and their fight for the freedom, independence and sovereignty of the peoples.
