Medical supplies donated to add support to the Ministry of Health

A significant quantity of medical supplies was donated to the Ministry of Health to add support to the healthcare sector in this country.

The Total Care Ministry of the New Testament Church of God made the donation on Friday, following a medical mission that saw over 700 people in five communities receiving medical consultations.

“This is the first medical mission in collaboration with the Reverend Carol Gordon Ministry out of the United States. The team brought 15 persons inclusive of two doctors — one general practitioner and paediatrician, two dentists and the others involved in different areas of ministry,” Dr Joselle Miller, the Total Care Ministry coordinator, told SEARCHLIGHT.
The mission ran from March 18 to 22 and was supervised by Dr Delroy Thomas, a medical officer in the Ministry of Health.

The team visited South Rivers, Enhams, Chateaubelair, Vermont and Bequia to offer services including HIV testing, psychological counselling and dentistry.

Miller said that the Total Care Ministry, which was officially launched in 2017, is meant to care for people in a holistic way. And so, the mission team from Carol Gordon Ministries also brought with them medication, clothes and a number of other supplies to donate to the people.

The Total Care Ministry coordinator also thanked the Ministry of Health who helped to make the mission a success and also the team from the Carol Gordon Ministries.

Levi Walker, the chief pharmacist accepted the donation of medical supplies at Friday’s handover ceremony.

“…We are very appreciative for the supplies, which will add some value to the services that we are offering. I’m quite sure that this is not the last intervention that we will have from this team so I want to say thank you very much and we look forward to working with you again,” he said.
