Venezuelan Film Festival to be hosted here this month by the Venezuelan Embassy

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela will host the first edition of the Venezuelan Film Festival ‘See What We Are’, later this month.

The festival will be held to commemorate 121 years of Venezuelan film and the 87th birthday of one of the most important filmmakers in Venezuela, Roman Chalbaud.

The first edition of the Venezuelan Film Festival “See What We Are” has been created as an audiovisual space that shows social issues that weave the notion of Venezuelan identity as a reference of cultures in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The films to be presented at the Venezuelan Film Festival “See What We Are” are: La Planta Insolente (2017) Premier; El Dicaprio de Corozopando (2017); Juntera (2016); Maisanta (2016); Azul como el cielo (2016); Azú (2013).

The festival, which will be held from November 26 to 30 is being held through the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation (IVCC) “Hugo Chávez Frías” in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce, the Ministry of Education National Reconciliation, Ecclesiastical Affairs and Information, the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Culture, the Vincentian Association of Artists Writers and Producers, the UWI Open Campus, the Venezuelan Vincentian Friendship Association (VENVIFA) and the SVG Community College.
