Calliaqua groups honour sponsors and residents on Independence Day

The recently formed A Team, along with the Calliaqua masters football team made presentations to two persons and two sponsors, last Saturday, in an area known as the Calliaqua Culture Pot Square.

The A Team acknowledged Edith Whiskey, with a presentation of a food hamper.

At 90 years old, Whiskey is said to be the oldest Calliaqua–born resident.

Meanwhile, the Calliaqua masters’ football team made presentations of a trophy to Rock Hard Cement and a plague to Howard’s Marine, for their unwavering support in sponsoring the team.

Additionally, the Calliaqua masters football team, handed over two vouchers, each at a value of $250, to Joel Morgan, otherwise known as “Paddy”.

The vouchers are redeemable for food and health supplies for the months of November and December at Toni’s Mini Mart in Calliaqua.

Morgan expressed appreciated in receiving the vouchers, which he said would go a long way towards his welfare.

Both organisations at last Saturday’s brief ceremony expressed delight in serving the community of Calliaqua and promised a redoubling of efforts to do more in the future.

Last Saturday’s presentations sandwiched the A Team’s hosting of fun activities mainly for children, also staged at the Calliaqua Culture Pot Square.
