Soroptimist International of SVG Partners with the NOC

SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of St Vincent and the Grenadines was the proud recipient of a gift from the National Olympic Committee of St Vincent and the Grenadines (NOC) – An HP Laptop which is one part of the gift. The second part is a Projector which would be delivered at a later date.

The Handing over ceremony took place at the Club Room on Tuesday October 2, at the Executive meeting of Soroptimist International by Secretary General of the SVG – NOC Keith Joseph.

The Gift Package is part of a Partnership arrangement that began last year when the NOC requested the assistance of the Club in developing a Life Skills Programme for their National athletes. The Life skills programme is presented by four Soroptimists –

• President – René M. Baptiste

• Development Officer – Lavinnia Gunn

• Communications Officer – Gail Davis

• Past President – Miriam Roache The programme has delivered five Training Sessions with various athletes, covering several sporting disciplines including – Cricket, Squash, Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball and Basketball.

It is anticipated that the current Syllabus would be expanded and the programme taken out into the rural areas of the State, as well as to th e Grenadines to observe and execute – on – the – ground aspects.

The Soroptimist/ NOC programme currently covers only four areas:

• Protocol

• Etiquette

• Communications

• Ambassadorial Service
