Gov’t to award students for academic excellence today

The Ministry of Education will this morning host a special ceremony to celebrate the commendable performance of seven former students of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) – Divisions of Technical, Teacher, and Nursing Education.

The students will be awarded scholarships, bursaries and tuition awards based on their academic achievement in the external exit exams of May to June, 2017.

Shecania Small, Timeisha Jacobs and Shenika Samuel will be awarded three-year scholarships, while Tyeisha Garraway and Janeika Straker will receive bursaries. Adonica Bynoe-Barnon and Shandeen Johnson will receive tuition awards.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at the Lecture Theatre of the Glen campus of the SVGCC this morning beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Prime Minister Gonsalves is expected to deliver remarks and the ceremony will be broadcast live on NBC.
