Hairoun promises to paint some life back into J’Ouvert

The St Vincent Brewery Limited, in an attempt to inject life back into J’Ouvert celebrations, has this year decided to switch their focus to the Monday, July 9 event.

Last Thursday, the Brewery, under their flagship brand Hairoun beer, launched “Paintopia”, their 2018 J’Ouvert presentation.

The paint band was launched at the Mariners Hotel in Villa.Addressing the launch, Marketing Coordinator at the Brewery Kelvin Franklyn said Hairoun feels they can inject “some life into J’Ouvert and bring it back to where it used to be.”

He said Paintopia will be done on a grand scale as the Brewery always does big things in their continued effort to please their customers.

“We do not do things in a simple way, so you can expect something great, something exceptional when Hairoun is going to be on the road.

We will start with the J’Ouvert party then take to the streets of Kingstown,” said Franklyn. He added that the Brewery, under their Guinness brand has been involved with Carnival Monday bands for about five years and they have noticed a falloff in J’Ouvert activities, so they decided to hang up their Monday band hat and invest in J’Ouvert.

“We are a company of many exciting innovative brands loved by Vincentians and as such, we have had a reputable portfolio of unforgettable experiences that we offer to our loyal supporters.

“We are proud to announce the birth of something new, something fresh, the birth of Paintopia, a Hairoun J’Ouvert experience like no other, a new exciting addition to the Vincy Mas product that is sure to infuse a fresh evolution into an already amazing product,” Franklyn boasted.

The marketing man stressed that Hairoun intends to fulfil the needs and exceed the expectations of revellers and supporters.

“We will party through the night into the dawn as we frolic through the streets of Kingstown adorned in red, yellow, blue and green body paint… our quality, our pride, our love for island and our beer will be evident as we invite you to hold your own on J’Ouvert morning,” said Franklyn. He added that the Brewery prides itself on being the only local beer and a major supporter and platinum sponsor of Vincy Mas.“We have not only been committing ourselves to the Carnival Development Corporation, but we are sponsoring the rural carnivals.

We are also sponsoring mas bands, all the components of carnival, calypso, pan and a lot of the private shows,” Franklyn said while pointing out that Hairoun Beer’s tagline this year is “Hairoun is Carnival.”

Chairman of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) Ricky Adams said he supports Paintopia as it is refreshing when new events are added to Vincy Mas.

“We welcome the return of the big Hairoun band to the J’Ouvert celebrations and while Monday evening has been growing at an exciting rate, we have seen a fall off with the participation of J’Ouvert and so therefore, we are very excited that Hairoun is bringing its enthusiasm back to the J’Ouvert celebration and so we really look forward to it,” said Adams.
