Presentations on Taiwan Scholarship Programmes begin tomorrow
Vincentians who wish to apply for Taiwan Scholarship Programmes are being strongly advised to attend one of three presentations on the 2017 Taiwan Scholarship Programmes.
During the presentations, the Embassy will introduce the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the TaiwanICDF Scholarship programmes, including their respective qualifications, requirements and application procedures.
The first presentation will take place tomorrow, February 1 at 12 at the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College at Villa. On Wednesday, February 8 at 12 noon, the presentation will take place at the Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE) at Arnos Vale. On Thursday, February 16 at 4:30 p.m., the presentation will take place at the University of West Indies, Open Campus.
Members of the SVG Taiwan Scholar Alumni Association will be present to share their experiences of studying and living in Taiwan. Special guests also include two project managers from the Taiwan Technical Missions in SVG. They will brief the audiences on degree programmes in the area of agriculture and ICT in Taiwan.
The Taiwan Scholarship Programmes were launched in 2004 to encourage outstanding Vincentians to pursue higher education in Taiwan. It is also to improve cultural and people to people exchanges between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
In addition to undergraduate (4 years), masterâs (2 years) and doctoral (4 years) programmes, the Taiwan Scholarship Programmes also offer a four-year postgraduate programme for medicine, specially designed for international students.
More than 110 Vincentians have been awarded the scholarships since their inception. Last year, there were 16 scholarship awardees. The deadline is March 17 for TaiwanICDF Scholarships and March 31 for MOFA Taiwan Scholarships.
