Campden Park man shot dead in Sharpes

This country has for the first time in history, recorded 38 murders in one year.

The unenviable milestone was achieved yesterday, with the early morning shooting of Campden Park resident Kamari ‘Kam’ Neptune.

Neptune, a van driver, received multiple gunshot wounds about his body at around 6:16 on Thursday morning, while disposing of garbage in front of his girlfriend’s house at Redemption Sharpes.

Neptune rose to national attention back in October, 2016 when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court to answer three charges of illegal possession of ammunition.

The 34-year-old was charged that on September 30 at Glen, he had three rounds of .380 ammunition, three rounds of 9mm ammunition and six rounds of .38 ammunition without a licence.

At the time of his murder, Neptune, the father of numerous children, was on $6,500 bail.

The next highest murder toll was achieved in 2014, when St Vincent and the Grenadines recorded 37.
