ECGC acts swiftly to assist trough victims

The November 29, 2016 trough system that affected the island left many persons, especially those in Sandy Bay, without some of the basic necessities, such as water and food.

Therefore, between November 30 and December 3, ECGC delivered over 9,000 tons of water to the areas between Georgetown and Sandy Bay. The company also donated 500 lbs of flour,{{more}} 500 lbs of rice and 200 lbs of semolina to NEMO, to be distributed to those persons who were affected by the trough system, particularly those in shelters.

ECGC has always recognized its social responsibility to the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines and once again did not hesitate to come to the assistance of those persons in need.

Marketing manager Rachel Haslam says that the company sympathizes with the people affected. She noted how moved she was to see ECGC employees’ willingness to deliver water, even at night, to those affected areas and that the act of selflessness demonstrates that humanitarianism is still alive and well.
