Two more preliminary rounds remain in 2017 NTRC iSquared competition

Eight teams have already faced the judges, with two more rounds of preliminary competition remaining in the 2017 National Telecommunication Regulatory Commission’s (NTRC) iSquared competition.

Last Thursday, November 24, the tertiary round of judging was held at the NIS conference room in Kingstown, and saw students from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies{{more}} reveal their plans for ideas and mobile applications, which they believe could enhance the private sector and generate revenue in the process.

Ideas and applications ranged from transportation and customer service, transfer of prescriptions and medication to patients, employment, and meal locators for those in search of food.

Bringing their ideas to the forefront were the groups: Hairouna Dragons, Group CPP, DASGS Service Tech, Ctrl Alt Del, and Collagen; the groups New Investors, Proactive Solution Investors and Group CPP shared their models for potential applications.

The groups were judged by a panel of capable adjudicators: Ronett Lewis, Sunel John, Paul Morris, David Browne and Anthony McKenzie.

On Wednesday, December 14, it will be the turn of the teams from the George Stephens Secondary School, the Petit Bordel Secondary, St Joseph’s Convent Kingstown, Bishops College Kingstown, Thomas Saunders Secondary School, and the Mountain View Academy.

Their preliminary judging also takes place at the NIS conference room.

The final leg of judging takes place at the Union island Secondary School on Thursday, December 15, with the finals slated for January 2017.
