Media workers visit La SoufriПre for Tourism Month

A group of media workers recently braved the arduous terrain of La Soufrière volcano to its apex, as part of activities to commemorate Tourism Awareness Month.

Last Tuesday, November 8, members from various local media houses – of ranging degrees of fitness – all successfully climbed La Soufrière, led by tourism education officer Annille Beache.{{more}}

The hike took the media workers from the volcano’s base through dense rainforest to the rocky terrain at the top – where a stunning view of the volcano’s crater could be seen, as well as the picturesque Windward and Leeward coasts.

Tourism Awareness Month, which is taking place under the theme ‘Tourism Is Everyone’s Business: Live it, Love it, Embrace it’, is designed to heighten tourism awareness and to sensitize the public to the importance of our tourism product to the economy. (JSV)
