FLOW helps repair Salvation Army Children’s Home

FLOW continues to impact the lives of the less fortunate in society.

The latest organization to benefit from one of the company’s initiatives is the Salvation Army Children’s Home at Pembroke.

On Wednesday, October 19th, 2016, FLOW staff members went to the children’s home, where they conducted minor repairs and did landscaping.{{more}} The trip came as part of FLOW’s staff appreciation week, while October 19 was dubbed, “Mission Day”.

According to marketing and communication executive at FLOW Melissa Veira, as part of “Mission Day”, the trip to the children’s home was aimed at improving the environment for the children who live there. She noted also that FLOW is building a book collection and will also soon be installing a library at the home, along with closets for the 11 residents, who are between four and 11 years old.

“This institution serves as home for these children who have lost at least one parent, and oftentimes cannot remain with other family members, so we were grateful to help,” stressed Veira.

She noted also that the staff appreciation week began on Sunday, October 16 with a Church Service at the Harvest Bible Chapel in Arnos Vale and was followed by the general manager’s breakfast for staff on the mainland on Monday, October 17 at the Halifax Street office. Also on Monday, lunch was provided for FLOW’s Grenadines staff.

Tuesday, October 18 saw a Job Swap, while Thursday, October 20 was designated, “Staff Trivia Day”. Friday was staff movie night, while Saturday, October 22 saw a staff picnic at Mt Wynne.

“The week was successful and staff enjoyed the activities”, said Veira.
