SVGTU in solidarity with Dominica

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union (SVGTU) extends sympathy and solidarity to the Dominica Association of Teachers and, by extension, the Government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica as they battle the devastation caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Erika.{{more}} We note with deep concern the reported loss of life and extensive damage to property. So far, we have been assured of the safety of our sisters and brothers in the teaching fraternity there. We continue to monitor the situation in Dominica and will keep our colleagues, their students and all those affected in one way or another in our thoughts and prayers. The SVGTU has begun to assess the needs from Dominica as they are communicated to us and will strategize as to how best we can assist them in the shortest possible time.
