Ambassador Prince to leave post
La Celia Prince, this countryâs ambassador to the United States and permanent representative to the Organization of American States (OAS) will spend her last day on the job on September 7.
This was confirmed to SEARCHLIGHT on Tuesday by Minister of Foreign Affairs Camillo Gonsalves.{{more}}
Prince, 38, who has been the Chief of Mission at the St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Embassy in Washington, DC since 2008, will take up the post of Political Advisor in the Office of the Assistant Secretary General at the OAS.
A 1995 national scholar, Prince is a lawyer by training. She was educated at the University of the West Indies, the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School and later won a Chevening award to pursue graduate studies at Cambridge University.
Before being promoted to ambassador, Prince was deputy chief of mission in Washington from September 2005. Prior to that, she worked with the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Secretariat, as well as the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (CRNM) in Brussels, Belgium.
Prince, who speaks both French and Spanish, is the daughter of George and Helen Prince of Belvedere.
