Man shot multiple times while liming at Brighton

A 26-year-old mechanic of Brighton is lucky to be alive after being shot multiple times, on April 15, at Brighton.

Romano Farrell says he has no clue why he was shot by two masked gunmen, stating that he does not have any issues with anyone.

Farrell sustained gunshot wounds to his left shoulder, right toe, right arm and abdomen.

Speaking to SEARCHLIGHT from his bed at the Male Surgical ward of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), Farrell said {{more}}he was liming on the “block” in the company of another person, at about 7 p.m.

“I was on my phone messaging someone and while there, I heard some noise, but I couldn’t really see because the light from the phone was bright in my eyes,” Farrell said.

According to Farrell, he observed two masked men running towards him.

“They run me down and started to ‘beat shot’. When I running, I picking up shots all the time,” he recounted.

Farrell said, even with his injuries, he managed to run until he came to a house, which he hid behind.

“I stayed there for a minute or two and then after me ain’t hear no more shots, I walked go home,” Farrell said, adding that

he lives close to where he hid.

He was subsequently transported to the hospital by relatives.

Asked how he felt when he was shot and in hiding, Farrell stated that he was not frightened and knew he couldn’t give up.

The young man is expected to undergo surgery on his right arm.
