GTM observes Customer Appreciation Day

As the management and staff of the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Group of Insurance Companies (GTM) observed Customer Appreciation Day this year, they also acknowledged a number of other reasons to be thankful.

The company, established in 1880, is spread throughout the Caribbean with open portfolios in Guyana, its Head Office, Grenada, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).{{more}}

The decision to open an agency in this country is a decision that the company’s directors, as well as many Vincentians, have come to appreciate over the years.

Having served SVG for a number of years, the company’s directors, to demonstrate their commitment and loyalty to stakeholders, made the critical decision to upgrade the SVG office to a branch, on April 20, 2007.

On April 20, 2011, GTM moved into its own building, the Harold B Davis Building, located at Lot 69, Granby Street, in Kingstown.

The building bears the name of GTM’s late former chair, who decided that St Vincent and the Grenadines should have its very own edifice, and set in motion the mechanisms for this to become a reality.

Also instrumental in the acquisition of the building was GTM’s current managing director Roger Yee, who, incidentally, celebrated his birthday on April 20.

The local team showed its appreciation to customers and the general public on that very special day by hosting a health fair, which saw more than 200 persons taking advantage of the free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, which were administered by three qualified nurses.

Apart from the health checks, customers were given fresh fruit by the hard-working staff, with health brochures being provided by Health Solutions Inc.

GTM Group of Insurance Companies expressed thanks to its clients — internal and external, — who are foremost on the minds of the agents, for their patronage over the years.

GTM also thanked the people and Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines for their unwavering support, as well as the many past agents who had served, and the present team, who play a fundamental part in making the company a sturdy name in the area of insurance.
