Calder SDA donates to National Society for Persons with Disabilities

The Calder Seventh Day Adventist Church has made another donation to the National Society for Persons with Disabilities.

During the church’s most recent Annual Disabilities Programme held on November 15, 2014, a sum of $1,000 was raised. This money was presented to President of the National Society for Persons with Disabilities, Patricia Cumberbatch on February 17, 2015 by the members of the Calder SDA Church.{{more}}

The Calder Seventh-Day Adventist Church first began their Annual Disabilities programme on July 17, 2008. The aim of the programme is to assemble, socialize and encourage the disabled in and around the community of Calder to participate in creating a spiritual bond within the church and general population.

Since inception persons with disabilities have been invited and encouraged to participate in the programme.

The programme provides a blessing for both the guests of honour and the members of the Calder SDA Church as they witness the many talents that are displayed by those persons with disabilities, as they display the true meaning of the saying “disability is not inability.”

At every programme an offering is collected which is then donated to the National Society for Persons with Disabilities.

The Calder SDA Church would like to express their sincere gratitude to all persons who support this Annual program and to the President and members of the National Society for Persons with Disabilities for accepting their invitation to be a part of the programme each year. The programme is yet to be scheduled for this year, but it promises to be one filled with blessings for all.
