St Catherine Hospital donates $10-$15 million of medical equipment to SVG

Medical equipment, valued in the range of ten to fifteen million US dollars is being donated to St Vincent and the Grenadines by the St Catherine Hospital in Houston, Texas.{{more}}

Chief Medical Officer Dr Simone Keizer Beache is presently in Houston, leading a team of officials from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, which is identifying the specific pieces of equipment needed by the health system here.

According to Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, the available equipment ranges from side tables to a CT scan, and is a gift from the hospital, which is closing down.

Gonsalves said that the acquisition of the equipment was made possible through Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne, who negotiated the donation.
