LIME stars shine throughout Vincy Mas

Telecommunications provider LIME is celebrating the accomplishments of its ambassadors following a very triumphant carnival season.

LIME-sponsored individuals enjoyed success throughout the season starting with Shadeisha George; Miss LIME, who took the title of Miss SVG at the annual pageant on May 31.{{more}}

George went on to represent her country proudly at the Miss Carival pageant on July 4, where she gave a creditable account of herself and did us proud.

Long-time LIME Vincy Soca Dan Delroy “Fireman” Hooper created history when we walked out of the Victoria Park with the Raga and Power Soca titles, defeating 22 fellow artistes in the process.

LIME was also well represented in both competitions, with Soca Dans Shaunelle Mckenzie, Hance John, as well as LIME Soca Ambassador Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle, who placed second in the soca monarch competition.

Fireman would not stop there this year. His two songs “Unruly” and “Rum Meeting” took the first and second places in the Road March competition.

As if that was not enough, Fireman also won the LIME viewer’s choice Award for Ragga Soca and Soca Monach, and will be treated to an all-expense paid trip for 2 to St. Lucia Carnival 2014 and Spice Mas in Grenada 2014.

Special mention must be made of Luta “De Crowd Motivator”, who celebrated 20 years in the industry, and the other LIME ambassadors (DJ Q, Chemical X and Pitbull, Hypa 4000, Dr. Fugi) who kept the crowds “turned up” on the LIME Monday band trucks and at the various LIME sponsored shows that took place throughout the season.

LIME also brought a number of innovations to Vincy Mas this year, introducing live streaming of carnival events on their mobile phones to its customers, which would not have been possible without the launch of LIME 4G.

Customers were able to view on their LIME 4G Ready handset: Fantastic Friday, H2O Wet Fete, Miss Carival, and the Ragga and Soca Monarch finals.

LIME also continued to facilitate the CDC live streaming of these shows for persons in the region and diaspora.

Persons were also able to vote for their favourite artistes and contestants and songs on the LIME Viewers Choice Awards Facebook page, one of the most popular pages on Facebook.

To top it all off, the LIME Monday t-shirt band was one of the biggest bands on the road, and appeared to be the envy of other bands that saw their revellers defect by the hundred to jump with Fireman and Skinny, and other members of the LIME Soca Dans.

LIME would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners and participants in each and every one of this year’s carnival activities, and reaffirm its support for the Carnival Development Corporation, and carnival and culture in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as it continues to make Vincy Mas the Hottest Carnival in the Caribbean.
