Youths shot in shoot-out at Campden Park

Three young men: Killon Baptiste 30, Kenroy Edwards 19 and Ashley Roberts 18 are nursing gunshot wounds after they were reportedly ambushed in an early morning attack in the Great House area of Campden Park yesterday.{{more}}

One resident of the area told SEARCHLIGHT that he was at home overlooking the area where the shooting took place when he heard about six gunshots, around 7:35 a.m. Officers from the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) and investigators from the police force arrived at the scene, but no arrest was immediately made.

SEARCHLIGHT caught up with Baptiste and Roberts at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), where they were treated and released, but were told they have to return to have x-rays done.

Edwards, however, is still a patient at the hospital.

Baptiste said that they were just hanging out in the area when two men came up and opened fire.

Police have since taken two men into custody. Investigations are being carried out.(TY)
