CTAWU, BOSVG ink three-year memorandum
A three-year memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Commercial Technical and Allied Workers Union (CTAWU) and the Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines (BOSVG).
A number of officials from both entities and labour commissioner Fitz Jones signed off {{more}}on the new contract on May 22, 2014.
According to acting general secretary of the Commercial, Technical and Allied Trade Union (CTAWU) Joseph Burns Bonadie, the purpose of the memorandum is to record the agreement between the bank and the union on the regulations of salaries, hours of work, conditions of employment applicable to the employees of the bank that are covered by agreement.
âPart of our role is to ensure that there is a certain degree of industrial peace between employees and employers, and when a union and an employer could complete their negotiations, reach to the point of signing an agreement, and there wasnât any sound that something was wrong, it tells us that we are in for something good,â the labour commissioner said at the official signing.(BK)
