Today, Young will make a decision in a preliminary inquiry, where Colin David stands accused of the murder of Devon âJahjustâ Steele.
On May 5, 2013, at Rose Place, Kingstown, Steele, 33, was gunned down in the early hours of the morning.
According to reports, Young is expected to take up duties as a judge in Belize soon, leaving her post of chief magistrate here, to which she was appointed in 2008.
In SEARCHLIGHTâs March 18 publication, Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves said that Young âwould be missed tremendously.â
Gonsalves further added that he was thankful for the tremendous work that she is doing, and for her contribution to the justice system in St Vincent and the Grenadines and that he was certain that she would be a huge asset to Belize.
It is still unclear who will be Youngâs likely replacement. (KW)
