Sponsors promise biggest Monday evening band for Vincy 2k14

Three of the major sponsors of Vincy Mas have thrown out a challenge, promising to be the biggest Monday evening band this year.{{more}}

During the first press conference by the Carnival Development Corporation on Monday this week, spokespersons for the National Lotteries Authority, St Vincent Brewery and LIME each vowed to outdo the others when the street jump-up rolls around on July 7.

Representing the National Lotteries Authority, marketing manager Anthony Dennie announced that the company would be partnering with the CDC on a number of ventures this year, one of which is the introduction of two trucks on the road for the Monday evening festival.

“All I can say is that we are going to be having two trucks on the road. Very soon our Monday pack is going to be launched… there will be lots of giveaways with the CDC Lotto Monday band.

“The National Lotteries Authority is happy to be all part of it; we are not fearful; we know we have our niche of players who enjoy playing with us and it’s going to continue come 2014.”

Dennie pointed out that, as a diamond sponsor, injecting over one million dollars into Carnival, the NLA has refurbished the stage used at the Victoria Park, and would be launching a new and exciting promotion that is expected to be launched in time for Vincy Mas.

Dennie congratulated the CDC for its efforts to revive the Monday evening jump-up.

Representing the St Vincent Brewery, commercial manager Shafia London-Williams pointed out that the company would be throwing its hat in the ring, and would be presenting “a big, bad, black truck” on the road on the day of reckoning.

“It’s a black truck under the brand Guinness…. it just goes to show how much our company is committed to Carnival and how much we see it as a way in which we develop the culture in St Vincent and Hairoun as the national product of St Vincent.”

London-Williams indicated that the Brewery intends to work with the components of Carnival this year, as the company strives to contribute to the growth and sustainability of the country’s premier event.

The Brewery this year renewed its sponsorship of Vincy Mas for the next three years.

Nikala Williams, senior marketing and corporate communications executive at LIME boasted that the telecommunications company would have two trucks on the road, and would have some of the country’s top performers riding along.

“We have Skinny Fabulous signed with us this year; we do have the best in soca in St Vincent, because the LIME Soca Dans are still with LIME and you would have recently noticed that we recently signed the best DJs in St Vincent and I must check Mr Dennie on this Monday band thing that we have going on. We do know that LIME has the biggest Monday band on the road and that is not going to change.

“There is going to be some serious competition this year, but it’s all in the fun, we are going to bring the fun; and that is one of the things you can definitely expect from LIME.

With its 4G launch on the horizon, Williams indicated that the company would be turning up the heat with a number of deals for customers and fans of Carnival, through their LIME 4G Carnival Campaign.
