According to the police, three assailants made off with an undisclosed amount of cash shortly after 5 last Friday afternoon from the C.K. Greaves Wholesale Division on Bay Street in Kingstown.

Neville Greaves, one of the proprietors of the supermarket, confirmed that it was a daylight robbery and that the assailants made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to Greaves, the incident occurred around 5:25 p.m.

Friday’s robbery was the second of its kind to take place within the last fortnight.

On Thursday, January 30, Raymond Durrant, an employee of St Hill Insurance Company was relieved of a money bag containing cash and cheques as he was on his way to make a deposit.

As Durrant proceeded along back street, accompanied by his daughter, a masked man approached him from behind, fired off two gunshots and then grabbed the bag which also contained a 9 mm pistol and four rounds of ammunition.

Jariel ‘Mad Max’ Belle, 26, and Kwasie Ryan, 24, both residents of Paul’s Avenue, were arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Up to press time yesterday, no arrest had been made in relation to the incident which occurred at Greaves. (DD)
