Palmer joined 10 lucky customers from across the region who each won the trip to London, England to see soccer team Chelsea take on Manchester United live at Stamford Bridge.

The winners from the 11 Digicel territories will spend their time in London, in a four-star hotel. They have received spending money and prime seats at Stamford Bridge to see Chelsea FC take on Manchester United this Sunday, January 19th.

Palmer said that she sent a text with her name and email address to 4748 during the promotion which ran for approximately three months and ended on October 27th 2013.

“I am so excited, I like football and although I am more of a Real Madrid and Barcelona fan, I will watch any game”, said the Buccament resident, who added that this will be her first time in England, although she has a sister who lives there.

“I’m kind of worried about the cold, but I’m really glad for the opportunity”, said Palmer on Wednesday, while waiting to board her flight at the E.T. Joshua Airport.

“I will be waving my Vincy flag on Sunday”, she said, smiling.

She said that apart from the soccer game she would be using the opportunity to do some sightseeing.

The Digicel “Win with Chelsea” competition took place in the 11 countries in which the Digicel Kick Start soccer program takes place, namely: Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.

Marketing executive at Digicel Justin John was on hand on Wednesday to see Palmer off.
