On January 1, Diamond resident Charlene Huggins welcomed her seven pound, 10 ounce bundle of joy into the world at 8:48 a.m.
When SEARCHLIGHT visited Huggins at the Maternity B ward on Wednesday, the 27-year-old, now mother of two, said she was thrilled that she recorded the first birth for the year.
âThis is a very good feeling to have the first baby of the New Year. I did not expect this at all,â said Huggins, laughing with her family standing close.
Huggins said while she was scared during her pregnancy, she is happy that she had a safe delivery.
And with that, Huggins made it abundantly clear that Dezia is her last child, as she clutched her sleeping daughter with her arm.
Father of the child Julian Dallaway said that he is elated that his child is the first born for the year.
When asked what is the meaning of the childâs name, Julian said he just liked the name and that it speaks of his daughter doing great things in the future.(KW)
