At the 71st annual general meeting of the SVBLA on August 29, the FSA announced that experienced banker Richard Branch will take up the post on September 9.

Branch holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Sunderland, and a Bachelor of Arts (honours) degree in Banking with Economics and Law (Award of Excellence) from London Metropolitan University.

He also holds a certificate in Financial Practices and Services and a Diploma in Management and Banking from the University of Leicester, certificates in Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Customer Service, Advanced Credit Analysis, Anti Money Laundering and Coaching from various regional institutions. He has also had training in project management and mortgage underwriting.

Branch, a Vincentian, originally from Level Garden, also has “relevant experience in working with a distressed financial institution that was able to successfully make a turn around,” the FSA said.

The new CEO’s appointment is expected be ratified by the newly elected board of directors of the SVBLA when it meets this week.
