PM Gonsalves to say where diesel for Argyle airport is coming from
During the sitting of the House of Assembly today, Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves is expected to say whether the diesel that is being used at the Argyle international airport project is being procured through or from the St Vincent Electricity Services Ltd (VINLEC).{{more}}
Gonsalvesâ answer will be in response to a question posed, for oral answer, by Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace.
Eustaceâs question is one of 22 being asked by the Opposition, and which appear on the order paper for the meeting of the House of Assembly today and tomorrow.
The Leader of the Opposition is also expected to seek some clarity from Gonsalves on the anticipated date for the completion of the international airport.
Parliamentary Representative for the Northern Grenadines Dr Godwin Friday has submitted three questions, including one asking the Prime Minister to give a review of the level of preparedness of the police/fire department in Bequia and elsewhere to ensure that they are equipped with the essential tools to mount an effective response to fires.
Friday is also expected to question the governmentâs decision to lift the ban on the importation and use of jet skis in the country.
Terrence Ollivierre, Parliamentary Representative for the Southern Grenadines, will ask Minister of Health Clayton Burgin when will a nurse be sent to Mayreau and when is repair work expected to begin on the clinic there.
St Clair Leacock, Parliamentary Representative for Central Kingstown, will ask for financial statements, audited and unaudited for the years 2010 up to 2012 from the International Airport Development Company (IADC) and National Properties Limited (NP).
And agriculture continues to take precedence in the House, with Roland Matthews, Parliamentary Representative for North Leeward asking Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar about the establishment of a credit facility for farmers.
Eight Bills are expected to be presented in the House over the next two days.
The Public Sector Loan Bill, Loan Authorisation Bill, Insurance (Amendment) and the Succession to the Crown Bill are all expected to receive their first reading; the St Joseph Spiritual Baptist Church, Immanuel Christ Gospel Church, Grace Community Baptist Church and the Redeemed Christian Church of God Winners Incorporation Bills are all expected to get their second reading.(DD)
