Mustique Airways donates vehicle to Returning Nationals SVG for airport raffle
Mustique Airways has donated a brand new 2013 Kia Sportage to the Returning Nationals SVG, to be used as the first prize in the group’s upcoming raffle to raise funds for the construction of the Argyle international airport.{{more}}
The keys to the vehicle were handed over to president of the group Nyoka Clouden on Tuesday, at Star Garage, where the vehicle was purchased.
The winner of the car, valued at over $108,000, will also receive one yearâs paid license and insurance for the car.
Operations manager at Mustique Airways, Marcus Dabriel, in handing over the keys, noted that this donation is in keeping with his company’s support for the Argyle international airport and their belief in what the Returning Nationals are doing in raising funds to assist the airport’s construction. The company has committed itself to doing this again next year, if this raffle turns out to be a success.
Clouden expressed gratitude to Mustique Airways for their generous donation and said that the Returnees will continue to raise funds, as long as the airport is under construction. She says they are aware of the benefits the airport will bring to the country and, as people who travel a lot, they feel it is part of their duty to assist.
She encouraged members of the public to purchase tickets and to do so early to enable them to sell as many as possible.
The raffle comes with a second prize of a four burner/oven stove from Y de Lima and the third prize, a three-night, all expenses paid stay for two at the beautiful Hotel Alexandrina in Prospect.
Tickets are $10.00 each or a book of five for $45.00. The raffle takes place on October 28, 2013. Tickets are available from any member of Returning Nationals SVG, at Star Garage, Mustique Airways at the E.T. Joshua Airport, IADC and other locations to be announced soon.
Returning Nationals SVG has so far contributed $75,000.00 to the airport project.
