United Insurance on board again for Bequia Easter Regatta 2013

When the Bequia Easter Regatta gets underway later this month, it will be with the support of United Insurance Co. Ltd, who are once again a proud sponsor of the event.{{more}}

During a recent presentation of funds to the Bequia Sailing Club, John Barnard, on behalf of United Insurance, pledged his continued support to the organizers of the Regatta. At a time when many organizations and companies are reducing their sponsorship budgets, United Insurance continues on its successful mission to promote the development of sports, not just in St Vincent, but across the 13 other Caribbean territories where operations exist. “We are proud to support this event again because United is steadfast in our commitment to enrich the communities in which we operate. Through this event, we not only advance the development of local and regional yachting, but also provide a boost to the economy and sports tourism”, said Barnard.

Mrs Nicola Redway of the Bequia Sailing Club noted: “We are pleased to have United Insurance, on board again this year. Without the support of good corporate citizens like United Insurance this event would not be possible. We have another exciting Regatta planned for this year, with entrants from across the Caribbean and the world and we expect another year of keen competition.”

The Bequia Easter Regatta, an International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Category C event, takes place from March 28 to April 1, with more than 50 yachts participating. The United Insurance J24 3-Race Challenge will take place on the second day of races and features the J24 class of yachts.

United Insurance and the organizers look forward to a weekend filled with fervent competition and great fun for participants and spectators alike.
