Digicel opens store, office in Canouan

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Digicel Barbados and South OECS Barry O’Brien has described the opening of the Digicel store and office on Canouan as a milestone.{{more}}

The youngest in the Digicel family of stores was opened last week Thursday, September 13, at Retreat in Canouan.

Addressing the huge gathering at the opening, O’Brien said that the cornerstone of Digicel’s philosophy and success has been to build bigger and better networks and services, coupled with reduced prices, “offering best in class customer service, whilst contributing back to the local community.

“With this store we continue to live by that philosophy”, said O’Brien, adding that the store is Digicel’s official Canouan store, which was built to Digicel’s usual high standards.

“The store reinforces the fact that Digicel is 100 per cent committed to remaining the premier mobile provider for mobile services in Canouan”, said O’Brien, who also described the store as unique, in that it is a retail store where one can access Digicel’s products and services and also an office where queries can be heard and dealt with.

Also present at the opening were Digicel Island Manager for Canouan and the Grenadines Rob Lyons, Director of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) Apollo Knights, Marketing Manager Digicel SVG Juno DeRoche, Marketing Executive Digicel SVG Justin John and General Manager of CCA Eleanor Korach.

Addressing the gathering, Lyons said that the store will provide persons on Canouan and surrounding islands with an outlet where they can come to buy phones, top up their handset, or make whatever enquiries they may have in relation to Digicel’s products and services.

DeRoche, who thanked the many persons for attending the opening, said that Digicel is committed to making customers happy, hence the new location. The marketing manager also thanked persons on Canouan for their support over the years.

As part of the opening, handsets were sold at half price. This sale will continue until the end of the month.
