The seminar will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the conference room of the SVG Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Halifax Street, Kingstown.
A release from the Federation said the seminar comes at a time when the business community the world over has been challenged by the global economic downfall, which not only poses a threat to employers, but their employees as well. The objective of the seminar, therefore, is to expose participants to action learning to thrive in the ever increasing competitive work and business environment.
Dr Julian Ferdinand, lecturer, business consultant and management trainer, will facilitate the seminar; he will focus on five interrelated areas which include topics such as: Critical thinking: Objective planning and goal setting; Managing: Building Effective Teams; Communication: Communicating effectively, listening attentively; Work Ethics: work culture -policy/practice, communication – information sharing; Attitude at work: determining your career and company results; Stress Management; Motivation: passion or reward; Evaluation: measuring success/loss.
Following the seminar, participants would return to their various workplaces empowered to contribute to the sustenance and productivity of their organisation. Also from a personal development standpoint, they would be better able to manage stress, improve their work ethics/culture, and be critical and objective in their organization planning, the release said.
âThese outcomes are ideal in promoting excellence in the workplace, as well as increased productivity, since employees would be equipped to cope with the changing times. Participants would be capable of forming creative, effective and professional responses that would build confidence, drive successful individuals and organizational teams,â the release said.
