Cultural Policy consultancy to be launched today

Consultancy for the New National Cultural Policy of St Vincent and the Grenadines is scheduled to be launched here today at the National Insurance Services Training Room {{more}} at 10:30 a.m.

Former culture minister Rene Baptiste, culture consultant contracted by UNESCO to manage the consultancy and draft the national policy document, will lead the consultancy.

Several social partners and culture stakeholders have been invited to the launch and will constitute the focal group, which will contribute to the drafting of the document, a press release said.

Members of the focal group are drawn from the Ministry of Culture, UNESCO National Commission at the Ministry of Education, the Centre for Enterprise Development, INVEST SVG, the Economic Partnership Agreement Implementation Unit, and the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit.

The focal group will also include representatives from state-owned corporations and various facets of culture, including CARICOM Youth Ambassadors.

The consultancy is scheduled to end by early December.
