Glasgow designs team SVG’s Parade Wear for London Olympics 2012

Vincentian design house Kimya Glasgow has been chosen to design and produce the Parade Wear for the Vincentian Team participating in the London 2012 Olympics.{{more}}

“It is a tremendous honour to design for the country of my birth on such a prestigious occasion, especially considering that international designers like Ralph Lauren (USA), Stella McCartney (U.K.) and Armani and Prada (Italy) have designed for their countries for this event. So, this is a great opportunity for the Kimya Glasgow brand,” Glasgow said.

“The look is part preppy, part island-casual in various shades of the national colours. We also had to do a layered look, because of the unpredictability of the London weather. It features casual jewellery pieces by Shari Osborne of Wädäda Beads, Bequia. All production and textile designs were done locally.”

The parade wear will be worn at the opening ceremony in London today.
